Identity Theft Over Hyped?

It appears that Identity Theft has been way over hyped. Yet why? Well let's follow the money? The Federal Trade Commission has a budget right? They have to employ a handful of really good economists and quite a few wannabe economists who think that every business merger is some sort of economic conspiracy an attitude, which has permeated the FTC's existence for generations. Then the FTC has to higher thousands of Lawyers and has to pay them with taxpayer's money to protect large companies since many of these companies are lazy, weak and inefficient while delivering inferior products and providing mediocre to lousy service.

The Federal Trade Commission is a complete sham, but will not admit it although those in the know say it is for the good of the economy due to these large employers financial stability. Besides Adam Smith predicted this might happen and so it is somehow okay? Go figure these wannabe academics accepting such hokum and carrying on as if it is okay to misrepresent Justice at the little DOJ agency; FTC.

The new disruptive innovative and entrepreneurial companies move too fast for the larger corporations and they need help from the government to protect them because executives who quite frankly are only capable of borderline piss-poor performance run these companies. Now then this is one reason that the FTC fraudulently over hypes the problems of Identity Theft. The other reason is they choose companies who sell services to larger companies to prevent identity theft who make money selling software and consulting.

The FTC needs budget monies from Congress and most prove their worth so they over hype the reality of the problems. Read any GAO report on the FTC for more knowledge of how all this budget stuff works.

So how bad is Identity Theft? Not as bad as you think, but all this hype over it is hurting online companies who sell stuff on the Internet as consumers have been mislead and fear using their credit cards online. And that is bad for e-commerce companies and really good for large box store retailers this Christmas Season. But do you think it is right for the FTC to scare the public, misrepresent truth and make people fear a reality that does not exist or do you think the agency should be closed and disgorged of their ill-gotten gains? Think on it, as it sickens me to think this is Truth, Justice and the American Way at work.

Why Is My Computer Running Slow? - Fix With a Registry Cleaner

It is not uncommon to wonder by yourself, "why is my computer running slow?" after working on it for some time. One expects that given enough time, the efficient productiveness of every computer becomes questionable, yet they can let you down if you have to spend a while waiting for it get going or bring up programs.

This is not an issue peculiar to a few people, yet not many may know the origin of the trouble. The probable causes sparking these are virtually countless, such as depleted memory or diminishing hard disc space. But, prior to dashing off and forking out more cash on additional RAM or hard disc space, it is prudent to be aware that registry hiccups can contribute to your exasperation.

The registry is a vital component that keeps your machine running smoothly. The reason for this is due to the fact that the operating system gets into gear through perusing keys and slices of information that are necessary in charging programs and setting the PCs hardware in motion. The major anchor spot for these operations happen to be the registry.

Hence, faults and damaged data located in the registry contribute to slower speed. Sometimes, it is altogether impossible to get programs to kick into action. Also, bear in mind that registry glitches are dissimilar from others in that they come about automatically when you add, delete, or upgrade programs.

Do not therefore doubt that faults in the registry cannot be stopped beforehand like virus problems, for instance. Nevertheless, fixing these do not call for complicated procedures, but an oft- repeated scan and sorting out hiccups through registry cleaner software.

Registry cleaning software is readily available online. Manufacturers of these recommend that you take a cost-free scan and provide an opportunity to get rid of a few faults prior to your purchasing the software. After obtaining the software, you would have solved the question of why is my computer running slow, as well as setting a death trap for freezing and connected anomalies that cause your PC to nosedive. I personally managed to clean up my computer by downloading high quality registry cleaner software.

Tips on How to Grill Your Food Properly

One of the most exciting ways to cook your food is through grilling. You get that smoky kind of smell around your home. The smell alone can lift your spirits up.

However, not all of us are grilling aficionados. Some people tend to burn their food resulting to the loss of moisture in the dishes. You can say goodbye to those problems now because here are some tips on how to grill your food properly:

Tip 1: Make sure you know the temperature settings of your gas grill. You will know if the lava rocks are already good enough for cooking if ¾ of them are covered in ash. That is the time you can place your food on the cast-iron grill bars already.

Tip 2: There are two types of grilling: direct heat and indirect heat cooking. In indirect heat cooking for two burners, put a drip pan on one side of the grill. Add half a cup of water first to prevent accumulation of excess fat. Pre-heat one burner first for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, set the temperature down to medium settings. Put your food on the cast-iron bars close to the drip pan and then cover it with foil to insulate heat.

Tip 3: If your gas grill only has one burner, pre-heat the burner first for up to 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn the temperature to low settings and then place a large foil pan directly on the rack. This can be the same foil pan you are using for baking. Place your food on the foil. Cover it with another foil and then grill.

Tip 4: When you are cooking food with heavy sauces, try adding the glaze or the sauce 10 minutes before finishing the grilling time. They usually burn easily. It is better to wait up to the last few minutes of the grilling time to add the glazes and the sauces.

Tip 5: Usually, the temperature of the grill is affected by the amount of food you placed over it or the weather. Grilling usually takes longer during cold winter seasons. However, if it is pretty windy outside, you need to cover the grill to avoid making the lava rocks hotter than usual.

Tip 6: If the temperature is too high and you want to lower it a little, just try lifting the cooking rack. Use a stick or a tong to spread the rocks apart in order to diffuse some of the heat.

Business Name Trademark Infringement in the Third World

Here in the United States, when you trademark a business you are protecting a company's name and establishing a corporate identity. You are separating yourself from the herd.

And since you own the rights to your trademark, no one else can use it.

The legal system in the United States and Europe has pretty much hammered out the question of how to trademark a business. They've established rules and regulations. They've initiated and instituted some pretty serious repercussions when a person or a corporate identity tries to illegally use another's trademark.

However, if you were to take a look at what is happening as far as trademarks go in certain third world countries your eyes might just open wide as your jaw drops to the ground and you scratch your head in amazement.

Let's take a look at what most people would consider to be blatant trademark infringements in Addis, Ethiopia.

As soon as you disembark from your plane at Bole Airport you can see a huge "Mariot" Hotel down the road.

However, although the logo looks the same, the owner of this establishment dropped the second "t" and the second "r" from the name. The logic is presumably that, at least for the time being, they'll be safe from a lawsuit.

If you're hungry when you're strolling down the streets of Addis you might want to stop into Olives Garden Restaurant & Lounge. When you look at the sign that hangs above the entrance you'll see an amazing replica of the stateside Olive Garden restaurant signage, right down to the logo.

But what if you are hungry and want a hamburger? If you're in Addis Abba you might want to stop into the Burger Queen. Although you won't find a Whopper inside you will find a sign outside that bears a striking resemblance to Burger King's familiar split bun.

And if you are craving a latte and go inside Kaldi's you're going to blink your eyes and do a double take. That's because everything from the paint on the wall to the uniforms that the baristas are wearing are virtual copies of what you'll find in any Starbucks' coffee shop in the United States.

While it may be questionable as to whether it's a major concern of yours that someone in Ethiopia is capitalizing on your company's good name, you certainly wouldn't want that to happen here in the United States. And that's especially true when there are companies on the Internet that can take care of all of the hard work that you would otherwise need to do to trademark a business.

Why Should You Run the Wing-T Offense in Football?

What is it about the Wing-T that has allowed this offensive style to stay around for so long? Other systems come and go. While some may see the Wing-T Offense as antiquated, in fact it has been adapted and evolved to be a part of nearly every major offensive scheme in football today.

The Wing-T Offense includes a massive package of plays, organized into series. Each series has its own characteristics, but they all have a common goal.

Put One Defender in Conflict

Putting a defender in conflict is the centerpiece of a series oriented offense like the Wing-T. The goal is to cause one defender to be wrong more often than not, even if he is doing exactly what he has been coached to do.

The key is to find out what the defender's job is and then exploit it.

The first place most Offensive Coordinators will look is for the Flat Defender, who is also the Contain Player on the defense. This is the one player who's job is split evenly between defending the pass, and stopping the run.

When you can make that player wrong more often than not, you will cause him to have a terrible night. He starts to feel like there is no right answer, and he is right!

Put the Linebacker in Conflict

Series oriented football in the Wing-T Offense can put other players in contact as well. We can use false keys by the Guards to put a Linebacker in conflict.

Linebackers are taught to read the Guards. "The Guards will take you to the play," defensive coaches tell them over and over.

How do you put him in conflict? Simply have one, or both, Guards take him away from the play. This is called an Influence Pull and is a great key breaker for Linebackers who are doing an excellent job of reading the blocks of your Guards in the Wing-T Offense.

Putting a Defensive Lineman in Conflict

We can also put the Defensive Linemen into conflict. For example, a Defensive End facing the Buck Series, which features the Buck Sweep and Buck Trap plays, can really have his confidence shattered.

The Defensive End may get used to being down blocked by the Wing Back repeatedly as we kick out the last defender outside (usually a Safety or Corner) with a Guard.

After a while, the Defensive End has no choice but to start attacking the Wing Back, because if he keeps his eyes inside, he will continue to get washed down.

Once the Defensive End starts over committing to staying outside and attacking the Wing Back's down block, we will have the Wing Back feint a down block and avoid contact with the End.

Once the end has stepped out, he is a sitting duck to be the player kicked out by the Offensive Guard, thus moving the Buck Sweep one gap inside to become the Buck Trap.

Take the time to learn the Wing-T Offense and you can have a very effective and dangerous offensive attack in no time.

How To Get Online Wirelessly - No Coffee Shop Required

One of the hottest technology trends around today is the ability to get online anywhere, anytime. Without a WISP (Wireless ISP) service in your area, or wifi at Starbucks, your favorite coffee shop, or even some McDonalds and Burger Kings, you don't have a choice, you cannot get online. Or at least that was true in the past.

The major cellular vendors are beefing up their networks for what is believed to be one of the "next big things". You see, these vendors like Verizon Wireless, Sprint PCS/Nextel, Cingular, and T-Mobile have all invested millions of dollars in providing cellular towers across the country so that you can get a cell signal in almost any decently populated areas. Competition is fierce, and each carrier is looking for some kind of value-added service or function to entice customers to switch to their service.

One of the biggest things they have done recently is to allow you to get online from your laptop computer using one of their "air cards", sometimes known as an "EVDO card". These cards plug into the PCMCIA slot on your laptop (almost all laptops have a PCMCIA slot), and as long as you can pick up a decent signal from that carrier's cell tower, you can get online with your laptop and this manufacturer-specific air card!

Verizon and Cingular appear to be leading the pack with this technology, with new high-speed hotspots appearing regularly across the country. Sprint is also investing heavily into creating more Sprint-specific hotspot areas for their service. T-Mobile also has this service available. With these carriers, you can get the "data-only" plan without being required to have one of that carrier's voice/cell service plans.

From a performance perspective, T-Mobile trails the pack significantly. Although their plan is the cheapest (about $30 per month for unlimited access), performance is barely as good as a dial-up connection. But if dial-up speed is sufficient for you, this can be a very mobile and cost-effective option.

As of the end of February 2006, in areas where Verizon had their high-speed option available, average download speed was measured at 563k, which is a speed that many home DSL or cable users don't get as high as. Verizon currently has this service available in about 70 markets. About 38% of responders reported seeing speeds greater than 600k.

In areas where the high-speed version of the Sprint equivalent is available, average download speed is reported as 641k, and is available in about 108 markets nationwide. About 47% reported seeing speeds higher than 600k regularly.

The Cingular equivalent reported an average download speed of 581k in areas where the service is available.

Be SURE to set your expectations correctly. A strong cell signal is required from the carrier providing the service to get the best possible speed, in the same sense that a voice cell connection may be scratchy if the cell signal in a given location is marginal. In areas that can deliver this data service but have not yet been upgraded to provide the high-speed option, typical connection speed (again with a strong cell signal) is reported as significantly less, around 152k as an average, or about 3 times the speed of a decent dial-up connection.

The plans can be a bit pricey, but you're paying for truly mobile connectivity without being tied to an Ethernet cable and modem, or a particular coffee shop hotspot offering wireless like Starbucks. The plans run about $80 per month for unlimited access, although Verizon recently announced a plan offering their unlimited access plan for $60 if you also get a 2 year voice cellular plan with it (at additional cost of course). The carriers also have cheaper plans with a monthly data transfer limit, but be very aware that if you start using this regularly, the overage charges will end up costing much more than just opting for the "unlimited" plan in the first place.

The good news is that it's easier to learn about, shop, and compare ALL of these plans and the "air cards" now than it ever has been.

In fact here's 2 resources that will help you do just that:

The additional good news is that a LOT of people are not aware that this capability exists, and it exists at a price that is much less than it was only a year or two ago! So take advantage of the possibilities....and expand your wireless experience!

How A Cardio Heart Rate Monitor Helps You

Why Have a Cardio Heart Rate Monitor?

I recently finished a 12-week team fitness and weight loss program at my local gym, where I learned many valuable things about fitness training and how it relates to heart health and efficient workouts. I experienced first-hand the necessity of being able to watch your heart rate with an exercise heart rate monitor, while doing various speed and incline intervals on the treadmill to have a more effective workout. A cardio heart rate monitor can tell you your heart rate, cardio training zone, calories burned and give you valuable heart smart knowledge about your body's fitness.

Know Your Cardio Zones

After completing this fitness program, I learned that it is absolutely necessary to know what heart rate training zone you are working in to improve your workout efficiency -- to get the most benefit in the least amount of time. A heart rate monitor helps you know what cardio zone (Zones 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) you are working in. In class, we spent most of our time working between Zone 2: the "temperate zone," Zone 3: the "aerobic zone," and some time in Zone 4: the "threshold zone." Zone 2 is commonly known as the fat burning zone, where you are exercising comfortably and body fat begins moving out of your cells. Zone 3, typically referred to as the sweat zone, involves exercising at 70%-80% of your mazimum heart rate, burning a combination of fat and carbohydrates and increasing your aerobic capacity.

Beginning to intermediate workouts include work in Zone 2 & 3 for people training to improve their aerobic fitness. Zone 4 is a tougher place to work out, where you go above your "Anaerobic Threshold (AT)." (Your AT is the level of exercise your body can sustain utilizing both fat and carbohydrates as fuel). Finally, Zone 5: the "high zone," uses the highest pecentage of heart beats and calories burned as you become more advanced and get in top physical condition. I could always count on my heart rate monitor to tell me which zone I was in and for how long, including my heart rates and recovery times. After a period of time, I got to know how my body's heart rate responded while working between these zones, and up to AT and back down.

Know Your Heart Rate - Hands Free

In addition, a heart rate monitor can tell you your heart rate while your hands remain free of the treadmill. While we walked or ran the treadmill, the trainer called out something like "OK, now three minutes to the top of Zone 3," or "Two minutes recovery time to the bottom of Zone 2," as we lifted 5 to 8 pound weights, or stretched rubber bands in various routines. It's convenient and easy to look at your heart rate monitor while you are in the middle of these routines using your arms and hands for upper body fitness. Our trainer continually stressed to a few in the class that did not yet have heart rate monitors, that the treadmill heart monitor could not be counted on to be accurate. This is especially so while a person is lifting weights at various inclines and speeds while walking or running.

Watch Your Calories Burn!

I enjoyed watching my cardio heart rate monitor tell me the number of calories I was burning while working out, as well as up to about three hours afterward. At the beginning of each treadmill workout, I'd punch my heart rate monitor to the calorie display and hit "Start." By watching this display continually during my workout, it helped me to know how my body's heart rate coincided with the number of calories burned. (The calories will naturally burn more slowly in the beginning of your workout). As we warmed up and worked into Zone 3, then up to AT -- it was interesting to watch the number of calories burn so much faster! What was even more fun -- was seeing the number of calories burned at the end of the workout session.

More Efficient Workouts = More Benefits

No matter where you are on your road to lifetime fitness, by working out efficiently you will increase your benefits in a shorter period of time. You can expect to have more energy, feel stronger, and have less stress while learning to use a program tailored to your exercise fitness goals and heart health needs. If you are more fit but looking for improvements, you can still expect to enjoy working out, burn fat more efficiently and train smarter, not harder. Even if you're a serious athlete or marathon runner, you will continually increase your heart monitoring knowledge, and be able to create a precision fitness training program. In my own experience, I decreased my body fat percentage by 5% and decreased my resting pulse rate and recovery times. I learned how my body's heart rate responded while working between the zones, up to AT and back down. I gained valuable knowledge so I am continually able to increase my fat burning and aerobic capacities, and go to the next level of improvement.

Summary - Work Out Smarter!

Once you get a heart rate monitor, you'll be hooked! You'll no longer be content to not be able to know your heart rate, training zones or calories burned. You'll realize that by knowing your heart rate, you'll get the very most from your body's fitness capacities and your time spent pursuing your lifetime fitness goals. Today, it's all about working smarter, not harder! A heart rate monitor will help you to work out the smart way! You'll gain valuable knowledge about your personal fitness, which helps you reach your fitness goals easier, and faster. Just remember - be consistent, and don't give up!

What Is a Badminton Drill?

A Badminton Drill is quite simply a practice.

No, not practicing by playing or knocking a few shuttles across the net to your partner. A Badminton Drill is a practice. It's a practice of a specific skill or element required to play badminton. The Badminton drill can take many forms but will usually focus on taking a small and specific area on which to work.

Let me give an example from my own style of play, I invariably have my racquet 'down' either to the side or in front, even when at the front of the court. But a far better position for the racquet and me as I'm well over six foot, is to have my knees slightly bend and the racquet head raised to shoulder or head height. I need to Drill this habit into my head. So my partner and I play the 'patty cake' game, both stand just back of the front service line and try hitting the shuttle as horizontal and as close to the net tape as possible.

It becomes a 'game' when there are no rules, i.e. freedom to hit shuttle on either forehand or backhand. It becomes a Drill when you continually just do forehand. It can be further broken down into say, near forehand and far forehand.

Badminton drills are better than practise as they are more specific to particular areas and should be done over a considerable amount of time. An hour spent on a particular Badminton drill is nothing, and what's more it should be regularly repeated throughout the training regime.

Another Badminton drill might be 'mid court backhand cross net return', bit of a mouthful that, but if your partner can deliver the shuttle to the right area this is easily practicable, but the main purpose of the drill could be to get you to change from a forehand grip to a backhand grip!!..

A Badminton drill is a very useful training technique and is simply a repetition of a small but necessary skill.
